One Tool for All

Geolux HydroTemp

Scientific-grade digital sensor for precise water, soil and liquid temperature monitoring across aquifers, coasts, farms and research sites.

The Geolux HydroTemp is a scientific-grade digital temperature sensor for precise monitoring of water, soil, and liquid temperatures in diverse environments—from aquifers and coastal ecosystems to agricultural fields and climate-change research sites.

Meeting Modern Monitoring Needs

Tracking climate impacts on aquatic systems, improving agricultural water management, optimizing aquaculture, and understanding hydrological dynamics all demand accurate, high-resolution temperature data. HydroTemp delivers reliable performance from extreme cold to high underwater pressures and supports multiple probes on a single line for flexible water and soil monitoring.

Groundwater and Aquifer Monitoring

HydroTemp maps temperature variations in aquifers to reveal water movement, recharge rates, and surface–groundwater interactions. With up to 16 sensors on a single line and scientific-grade absolute accuracy of 0.1 °C, researchers build detailed profiles to track changes over time. A Kevlar-reinforced, neutral-buoyancy cable ensures durability for long-term deployments in harsh conditions.

Marine and Coastal Ecosystem Monitoring

Designed for freshwater, brackish and seawater environments, HydroTemp operates at depths up to 150 m and provides precise readings for stratification, thermoclines and estuarine gradients. These data inform assessments of water quality, nutrient cycling, fish migration and pollution impacts. SDI-12 and Modbus over RS-485 enable seamless integration with existing dataloggers and networks.

Agricultural Water Management

Soil and water temperature influence moisture dynamics and evapotranspiration. Deployed in irrigation canals, reservoirs or soil profiles, HydroTemp supplies real-time temperature data to optimize irrigation schedules, improve water-use efficiency and support crop health—even in regions with freezing winters or strong seasonal fluctuations.

Climate-Change Research

HydroTemp supports long-term studies of water bodies, glaciers and soils by detecting subtle temperature shifts that signal broader environmental change—from permafrost thaw rates in alpine and polar regions to warming seas linked to coral bleaching and biodiversity shifts. Its resilience in freezing conditions makes it well suited to extreme environments.

Precision, Durability and Flexibility

Combining high accuracy with a robust build, HydroTemp captures small variations while operating in demanding settings—from ocean depths to mountain streams. Customizable sensor spacing and total string lengths up to 150 m let teams tailor deployments to project needs. Compatibility with SDI-12 and RS-485 Modbus simplifies integration in both short- and long-term monitoring programs.
