Advanced microwave communication and radar systems require complex digital signal processing algorithms. We are experienced in both designing optimal DSP algorithms for given problem and implementing these algorithms to run on actual hardware, based on either microprocessors with DSP units or FPGA SoC modules. We offer custom digital signal processing algorithm development, and our engineers have experience implementing various numerical, FEM, heuristical optimisation and machine learning algorithms to solve our customers’ problems successfully.
To satisfy demand for high computing power that is often required by complex microwave signal processing systems, we also offer custom FPGA design and programming services. We have developed several FPGA-based systems – both hardware boards and VHDL/Verilog software – that are able to do extremely fast processing of huge amounts of data. For example, on a recent project one 100 W board with 6 FPGA modules replaced a cluster consisting of 10 GPUs.
Our team of engineers can take on even most demanding embedded systems R&D projects. Geolux has been offering embedded systems R&D services since 2007, and from then we have worked with RabbitCore, Microchip PIC and various ARM (NXP, ST, Freescale) MCUs, with Xilinx and Altera FPGAs. We do PCB design, firmware and software development, mechanical design and microwave RF electronics.
In order to reduce development time, we have our own prototype lab that enables quick prototyping of both electronics and mechanics. If something cannot be done in our lab, we have a network of partner companies that can manufacture more complex prototypes quickly. There is no need to spend few weeks waiting for PCBs and SMD assembly to test the prototype.
Geolux is based in Croatia where enginner/hour cost is lower than in western EU. Also, usually we do not charge our clients by engineer/hour; instead we quote the total development cost upfront, so that our clients can plan their finances ahead. If something requires more work than we anticipated, and our initial estimate was wrong, the customer does not need to pay extra for that.
